Light installation, especially in trees. Mostly made for night walks, so far, but also for festivals, as a decore for live music and dance, even in the US. Also surprising shadow images.

Cathedral

2018

A (light) installation made by Bart Ensing on location near Castle d'Aspremont Lynden in Oud-Rekem, Belgium. I created an entrance to the work place under the trees, connected the trees with the ground and the crosses. To be seen the whole month of May during the group exhibition in the castle. Most of the time without lighting though....

Connection - for Gleam. Art in a new light

2018

I made an installation with strings in a huge tree using strings to connect the branches of the tree with the ground it grows from. I added diagonals for extra depth. An intriguing installation at day time, magic at night. Part of the time with green/orange Light, some if the time white. People were invited to make their own connection by walking in or through the installation. Many did and valued that, at the opening, also chose this installation as the favourite art work.

light installation KUNA-festival 2017

2017

On the KUNA-festival in Drenthe (The Netherlands) I made an instalation, or two, that I put in the light at night. It was the backgroudn for a live performance with live music and dance (hoolahoop by Karin the Wit), a very beautiul combination.

Nature inside

2017

In a dark potato barn I experimented wirh a light installation. Would it be possible to create the impression, the atmosphere of my light installations in nature in a room. Branches high in the building, threads, sand bags below. The threads straight, the rhytm I like, shadows on the wall, but also loose threads, a joyful counterpart. With light changing from orange to red and muzis on the hang drum. An experiment that poses opportunities, especially when people move in front of or into the installation.

'connection' on Fjoertoer Terschelling

2017

An installation made for the Fjoertoer Terschelling, light walk. Subtle orange threads, in rhytm, between the branches and the ground. Also at day time very beautiful, subtle. But at night, with lighting, gradually changing colours, with music, it is magic. 5000 wanderers walked by, into, made pictures and selfies.

Scheveningen Light Walk

2016

For the first Scheveningen Light Walk I made a light installation in a large beech tree. A lay of lines with 350 ropes, gradually changing light, accompanied by music on the hang pan. 2.400 people walked by and through in two hours. A magical view.

'Connection' by night

2016

I made an installation 'Connection' for LekArt 2016 in Culemborg, The Netherlands. Also by night it is beautiful.

shadows

2016

'Shadows' is a projection of images on the walls in a corner. Three figures, made of iron and plastic, are positioned on a table. Two lights shine on the figures and project shadows on the walls. The two projections on the walls and the alignment of the figures give totally different images, making one wonder what one sees, what the idea of the artist was, what is real. Bart Ensing made a number of variations on this theme.
