GLEAM, art in a new light

Gleam is an annual exhibit featuring local, national and international artists creating light-based installations throughout Olbrich's 16-acre outdoor gardens. Experience the gardens after dark and be dazzled and inspired. Bart Ensing makes an installation 'connection', connectiing the branches of the tree with the ground with a large number of threads.

     I made an installation with strings in a huge tree using strings to connect the branches of the tree with the ground it grows from. I added diagonals for extra depth. An intriguing installation at day time, magic at night. Part of the time with green/orange Light, some if the time white. People were invited to make their own connection by walking in or through the installation. Many did and valued that, at the opening, also chose this installation as the favourite art work.
